Woodseats Hotel. 743 Chesterfield Road

After years as a quiet Woodseats local, the pub made the Nationl news when its name changed to the Floozey and Firkin. The situation was not helped by the Allied Domeque spokesman's comments, which led Jerremy Paxman to enquire whether the local women had a reputation of being " slappers".

The brash and tasteless experiment did not last too long; the " firkin" joke had worn thin years ago. The Woodseats now looks pretty much as it had 10 years ago. No doubt converting it back cost as much as the needless first conversion.
