The exterior of this old Gilmour's house has hardly changed in more than a century. The top frieze once carried the Gilmour's Windsor Ales legend. This was replaced by a huge Tetley Bitter sign. Later the pub turned to Wards , whose wares were more subtly advertised with a subdued sign on the end gable.
Unfortunately the pub has recently closed, and a domestic suppliers sign covers " The Viaduct" sign. At one time the Wicker could boast a dozen pubs. It has now become a pub grave yard.
