As the Travellers Rest closed in 1921, details of its life are hard to come by. However in line with most buildings in the area it dates from the mid 19th century.
It appears that it was originally supplied by the Owlerton Brewery, selling first Cockayne's, then Allsop's, and later John Smiths beers.
The building has been used by a window company for many years.
