Staffordshire Arms. 38 Sorby Street

This Stones corner pub was built in 1864, and was one of the last in Sheffield to retain a beer only licence. It did not obtain a full licence until it was more than 120 years old.

Its main claim to fame was that the lardlord was shot by the landlady whilst he slept in bed. Coincidentally it is only a few yards from the East House where a multiple shooting took place only a few years before.
