The Springfield Tavern is a peculiarly shaped pub on a quiet backwater fairly close to Sheffield University. This area has changed greatly over the years and many of the local pubs have disapeared. Not so the Springfield. It has changed its name from the Ivy Cottage and changed to Hardy & Hanson's beers, but otherwise carries on as it has done for years.
