The Red Deer dates from 1825, although it has been much extended since then. Until a few years ago it had a tiny snug, that was accessed by an incredibly narrow door. Now it is one large room.
It is a popular place because of its range of real ales.
Why do people frequent the fake pubs on West Street when real ones are so close.
