Ratteners Rest. Globe Works, Pennistone Road

The Rattener's Rest was only a pub for around 2 or 3 years. It was probably a year or two too early.

Inside the building was beautifully decorated and customers spent much of their time walking around from room to room looking at exhibits, much like they would with a museum.

It closed because it could not attract customers to the area. Now, of course, it would be ideally situated on the tram route and in the middle of the "real ale" circuit.

Perhaps the time would be right for a revival.
