Queens Ground Hotel. 401 Langsett Road

This pub was built in 1851, and was originally known as the Queen's Hotel. However there was a large running track behind the pub and this soon became known as the Queen's Ground. The pub changed its name to suit.

The pub was built close to the Hillsborough Barracks, and soldiers used the ground for square bashing.

The Queen's Ground track is long gone, the barracks are now a supermarket. This old Ward's pub carries on, only the beer is changed.
