Penny Black. Pond Hill

The Penny Black was built beneath the city's main post office in the 1960s. It is a complete contrast to the Old Queen's Head which stands just yards away.

The green panel above the door of this Whitbread's house originally depicted the famous stamp that gave the pub its name.

It was the only pub in Sheffield to sell draught Mackeson, it apparently did not catch on.
