Like several other pubs in the area, the Norfolk Arms has moved during its life. The Norfolk Hotel was a slightly smaller Victorian building, but had to be moved when instalation of tram lines required the road to be widened.
The new building was erected around the turn of the last century, and is featured in many photographs of the time. The tram lines finished right outside and many people photographed the new fangled devices, snapping the pub at the same time. No doubt the end of the line was also good for business, many people popping in for a pint of Gilmour's before continuing their journey home.
The pub fell into the hands of Tetley when Gilmours closed.
