Sheffield Manor was a stately home owned by the Earl of Shrewsbury. It is famous as the place where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned for 14 years prior to being beheaded.
As the manor fell into decline, a part of it was leased out as the Norfolk Arms public house. It operated as such from 1709 until the 1890s.
Now a derelict relic, it stands as a reminder of how the landscape of Sheffield has changed.
