This Victorian pub was originally called the Albion Hotel and was only a six day licence. This was most unusual in Sheffield and was shared with the Lodge only yards down Spital Hill.
In the 1970s it became a free house and its name changed to the Golden Perch. It was supposed to be a haven for real ale lovers and in a vicious circle the range of beers was reduced which led to a further drop in custom. etc. etc.
Finally it became a rare outlet for Old Mill Brewery. Its name appropriately changing to the Mill Tavern.
