This old Rawson's house was built in the early years of Victoria's reign, when presumably the railway line finished here.
Rawson's brewery was bombed in 1940 and Duncan Gilmour took over its extensive pub network. Tetley's took the pub in their 1950s takeover of Gilmour's.
