The Hillsborough Hotel was a landmark standing at Hillsborough Corner. Only the strength of its walls prevented it from being washed away when the Dale Dyke Dam burst in 1864. It was one of the few that remained after that fatefull day.
It was rebuilt and served as a pub for many years. It is now used by several businesses including an Oxfam shop.
