The Horse & Jockey was one of eight pubs within 50 yards of the junction of Mill Lane and Sheffield Road. It was owned by Tennants of Sheffield.
Unfortunately it stood on the apex of a tight bend and was demolished in the 30s to allow the road to be widened. The site now houses a bus stop and lay-bye next to an Indian restaurant.
