Grouse Inn Penny Lane Totley

The grouse Inn was a farmhouse that started selling beer. The arrival of the railway and the building of the Totley Tunnel made it extremely busy. The main camp of the miners was only yards away.

The original beerhouse is the building to the right, the lean-to was erected as extra accomodation for the miners.

The Grouse called time in 1956, and is now a rather splendid private house
