Like most pubs in this area the Gardeners Rest survived the Great Sheffield Flood. Unlike most it survived the recession that hit this area.
The Gardeners Rest has now been transformed into one of Sheffield's most popular real ale venues, featuring Tim Taylors and guest beers. The comfortable 2/3 room establishment has received a glass conservatory, and often hosts live music.
