The pub was built in Victorian times when it was known as the Prince of Wales. It was popular with students as part of the West Street/Division Street circuit.
In 1982 it was totally rebuilt an became the Frog & Parrot, and was extended into the shop next door. It also sprouted a brewery. It has become famous or infamous for brewing "Roger & Out", said to be the Worlds strongest draught beer.
