Cathrine Arms. 29 Cathrine Street

The Cathrine Arms was a strange pub & doubled up as a grocery shop. The boarded up window was the shop front and access was obtained by a door partly hidden by the car's windscreen. There was also access direct from the shop into the public bar.

In its later years as a pub Tetley's ales were on sale, but trouble from drug dealers and a frequently absent landlord led to non renewal of the licence in 1995.

Since then it has opperated as an ethnic store, but now appears derelict.
