The Britannia. Worksop Road

It is rumoured that The Britannia is Sheffield's oldest pub. Certainly Benjamin Huntsman, the father of Sheffield steel making, lived here. It is said that he carved the 1772 figures on the end gable.

It is a survivor in an area of mass pub closures. The area around Worksop Road and Attercliffe Road is littered with once busy pubs that are, sadly, no more.
