The Bowshaw was originally known as the Nag's Head, and stood on the main road from Sheffield to Chesterfield. Now a new road by-passes the inn.
It has received a couple of very expensive re-builds over the last few years, one of which left the pub closed and roofless for months. Now it has extensive dining facilities and is part of a national chain.
