
Cherry Tree House was built in 1635 and was converted into an inn named the The Bowling Green Inn. The garden of the inn comprised of a bowling green and tea gardens. It is rumoured that beneath the bowling green was an underground concert room and dance hall. Cetainly an early landlord was a leading bandsman.
