A Stone's pub in the centre of Hackenthorpe, the Blue Bell was one of Sheffield's best concert venue pubs. Like the Birley and the Black Swan it hosted many an up-and-coming band who later went on to stardom.
From 1833 the Blue Bell was just a small beer house, only obtaining a full licence after World War 2, when it was a Richdales house.
The pub was totally rebuilt and extended in the mid 1950s.
