Although the building is much older, the Queen's Head started selling beer around 1840 when the knife grinder/owner applied for a £2 beer licence.
Although the Queen's Hotel stopped selling beer before World War 1, it became the local police station, and continued in this role until 1960.
It is now a private house, but it is interesting to think that for 45 years it was not the best pub to get locked in.
